Show Me the Impact

This one is still being written — here is the shape of it:

  • The trap: teams measure busyness — velocity, tickets closed, story points burned — and mistake it for progress.
  • Nobody outside the team cares about any of those numbers. What did the work change?
  • Pick one recent feature and trace it: what behaviour did we expect to shift, and did it?
  • What “impact” could look like day to day: fewer support tickets, faster onboarding, a metric someone actually watches moving.
  • The uncomfortable part: sometimes the honest answer is “no impact”, and that’s the most valuable thing you can learn.
  • Close with a small habit to adopt: write the expected impact down before building, and check it after.
